S-Zone
Established during the 1998 football season, the S-Zone is one of the Lion Ambassadors' most visible projects. During every home football game, ambassadors lead a cheering section of 800 students in the south end zone. Students in this area wear blue and white t-shirts that create an enormous blue "S" on a white background. It can be seen clearly from any vantage point in the stadium.
In 2004, ambassadors established corporate sponsorship for the S-Zone t-shirts. Since then, custom S-Zone shirts are given to every single seat in the S-Zone, setting precedent and making one of the best-looking S-Zones in the project's history.
In 2006, ambassadors decided to invert the colors of the S-Zone. The result was a thrilling white "S" contrasting magnificently against the blue background.
For Homecoming 2008, we went back to our roots with a pink "S" against a black background--Penn State's original colors.
The S-Zone received a makeover for the 2010 Homecoming game when the Lion Ambassadors created a paw print in the stands instead of the traditional "S".
This year, the S-Zone t-shirts are sponsored by Williams – find out more about Williams, as well as internships and job opportunities online at http://www.energy.williams.com/Careers.
