Service

Lion Ambassadors, through any opportunity given to us, gladly serves our campus and surrounding community. Below, read about the events we volunteered at this year!

YMCA Food Packaging

Lion Ambassadors joined forces with the YMCA Centre County to host a special event dedicated to spreading warmth and generosity during the holiday season. Together, we packed an impressive 300 boxes of Thanksgiving food items for local families who suffer from food insecurity. As the current Lion Ambassadors orchestrated this meaningful initiative, potential applicants were given the opportunity to immerse themselves in our pillar of service. This collaborative effort embodied the true essence of community and service.

Buddy Walk

The Centre Region Down Syndrome Society held their Buddy Walk at Mount Nittany Middle School. Lion Ambassadors helped with activities, ticket sales, and food. The event was a huge success, surpassing the fundraising goal of $42,000. Walk-in registrations and door donations reached a record-breaking number. The Jen Jewell's Benefit Raffle also raised an impressive $1,370. It was a joyful day of successful fundraising that left everyone feeling accomplished and happy.

Pumpkin Festival

Each year, Lion Ambassadors volunteers at the annual Pumpkin Festival at the Penn State Arboretum. We help greet attendees, run activities and games, and serve delicious hot chocolate. The festival keeps us connected to the State College community and helps us spread fall spirit before Halloween!
