Penn State Homecoming

Penn State Homecoming celebrates tradition and instills pride throughout our university community. Each year, Lion Ambassadors, along with many other student and community organizations, come together to celebrate and sport Penn State’s original school colors: Pink and Black!

Lion Ambassadors Floats

During Homecoming week, Lion Ambassadors come together to make our float come to life. On the Friday of Homecoming week, we join many others to proudly parade around campus to celebrate in one of the largest student-run parades in the world.

Bringing it all together.

Following the Homecoming Parade, Lion Ambassadors host the annual Guard The Lion Shrine event. Join us for free food, entertainment, and activities at the Lion Shrine to celebrate and remember some of Penn State’s most iconic homecoming traditions. We are honored to host Sue Paterno as she recounts the exciting tradition of guarding the Lion Shrine.

The 2025 Penn State Homecoming Parade is scheduled for Friday, October 10th. Lion Ambassadors’ Guard the Lion Shrine will follow directly after!

Thank you to our 2025 Homecoming Ad-Hocs!
